Republican Response, Bob McDonald of VA

10:25 - He's white.

10:26 - First round of applause comes when he echoes the same thing Obama said about joblessness.

10:27 - Quotes Jefferson, and adds "Today, the government is simply trying to do too much."

10:28 - "The proper limiting of government at every level" gets big applause.

10:29 - So far, with regard to policy, isn't he saying pretty much what Obama said? His message is strictly Republican, but his talking points are in agreement with the President, so far.

10:29 - Proposes how the Right can strangle Health Care Reform by allowing us to have more control over it, not turning it over to the government. We've been trying that, haven't we?

10:30 - His climate change proposals are the same as Obama's. But he stands against cap and trade, implying that they hamper job development.

10:31 - Calls for better charter schools, "more choices".

10:34 - He has a daughter who fought in Iraq. He thanks them. He then sidetracks talk about war in Iraq, to talk about protecting us from terrorists, who are not actually from Iraq. He believes that "victory in Iraq" is imperative, and said nothing of Obama's withdrawal dates.

10:37 - Praises free markets, leaving the car companies alone. He moves on to Haitian relief efforts, and then moves on again. He packed a lot into this minute.

10:38 - So far, he is still pitching underhand. He seems to be wrapping things up, calling for bipartisanship. Holy cow, he's already finished!
