What in the Hell Are We, Anyway?

A friend wrote me with a tough question: what do we call today's under-40 aged group? The aging hipsters, the quasi-yuppie lost generations in their 20s and 30s? Since college, they don't know who they are or what to call themselves any more. What is a good defining term for this large portion of the population?
