The President's Ethics in Public Life Initiative would like to inform you of the upcoming forum, "You've Been Poked: Privacy and Boundaries Online". Please join us on Wednesday, January 30, 7:00-9:00 PM in the Michigan Union- Pendleton Room. The Forum is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. This Forum is the third in a series of public forums for 2007-08 and will examine questions of privacy and information sharing on social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Friendster. The U-M Educational Theatre Company, a student theater troupe, will offer a realistic presentation of how information is seen and how it travels, followed by a panel of UM faculty and staff that will discuss the policies and practices surrounding social networking sites. There will opportunities for questions and audience discussion. The panel will be moderated by Derek Collins, Co-Chair of the Ethics in Public Life Initiative. Confirmed panelists are: Paul Conway, Associate Professor, School of Information; Jack Bernard, Adjunct Professor of Law, Education, Information, and Public Policy, and Assistant General Counsel, Office of General Counsel; and Judy Van Horn, Associate Director, Department of Athletics. A representative from the Ann Arbor Google office is also expected to participate in the panel.
